This information was emailed to all ISD Primary Contacts the first week of August 2023.
1) SHARE STUDENT REGISTRATION URLS
You will need to share your district-specific registration links with students new to Texas College Bridge.
2) SET UP YOUR ISD'S CLASS SECTIONS AND SCHOOLS
Before your students register, you need to ensure that your list of sections and schools is entered into the EdReady interface. For your sections, we suggest using descriptive names that include the school name or abbreviation. A common format is School–Semester–Teacher–Class, for example, AHS–Fall 22–Jones–2nd Period.
- During registration, students will have an opportunity to self-identify their class section(s) and school.
- Existing students can edit these values at any time, as can any associated administrative user.
3) MANAGE STAFF / INSTRUCTOR ACCOUNTS
- Create accounts for new users via EdReady.
4) SHARE KEY DETAILS WITH YOUR INSTRUCTORS
- Make sure instructors know their assigned section(s) so that they can share this information with their students. In the platform, they will only be able to see students who have selected one of their sections.
- Students should be encouraged to add / update section assignments as they get started in Texas College Bridge. Share the student-facing instructions.
- If a student already has a Texas College Bridge account but does not have the necessary subject(s) assigned to them, DO NOT permit them to create a second account. Instead, anyone who can edit the student's account will need to add the subject(s).
- Students should be encouraged to add / update section assignments as they get started in Texas College Bridge. Share the student-facing instructions.
- Provide these resources to empower instructors to help their students.
- Instructors should stay up-to-date on the current list of postsecondary institutions that accept Texas College Bridge certificates.
- Texas College Bridge requires students to earn a score of at least 90 on both Stages before they are awarded that subject's certificate of completion. Additionally, English instructors need to provide and grade the student essay assignment and enter the grade into EdReady for participating students to earn their English certificates.
- Encourage instructors to watch the teacher training videos and register for an upcoming PLC session.
5) NEW FEATURES & UPDATES FOR 2023-24
- College and Career Supports now directly in EdReady - Share information about the new College and Career Supports that are available to all students enrolled in Texas College Bridge.
