You can write your essay offline in a word processing application such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs. However, it is much better to use a plain text editor, such as Notepad (Windows) or TextEdit (Mac).
If you must paste an essay from MS Word or Google Docs, there are several things to be aware of.
- Your essay will lose all formatting. The essay in Texas College Bridge must be in plain text. There is no bold, underline, italics, colors, lists, etc.
- You MUST "paste in plain text" or "paste and match style". These options are only available in the right-click menu of your computer (ctrl+click on a Mac). If you paste normally, you will end up with hidden characters in your text that will break your teacher's ability to read your essay and it may need to be redone.
