Assignment Overview
The English Test Prep study paths (Reading, Writing, and Grammar) include an essay assignment that students can complete to prepare for the essay portion of the TSIA2. (The essay prompt for 2026-27 will be added here on August 3 - please check back later.)
To earn a grade of "Pass," the essay should include:
- A minimum of four (4) paragraphs – intro, two (2) body, conclusion;
- A minimum of five (5) sentences in each paragraph
Completing the Assignment
Students can complete the essay directly in EdReady. You can find student-facing instructions here:

Grading the Essay
Teachers will be notified when a student has completed their essay: you will be able to read, comment on, and grade the essay directly from inside of EdReady.

Locate All Submitted Essays
To find all submitted essays, use the Group Summary Report. After running the report, add the Essay Status column using the [+] icon at the top of the table. Then you can filter for "Submitted" to find essays to grade.
