This article contains the following information:
Categories Overview
EdReady uses a labeling convention called 'Categories' to indicate identifying characteristics of your students. The Categories in EdReady include:
- Cohort
- School name
- Graduation Year
- College Prep Section: Math
- College Prep Section: English
- Test Prep Section: Math
- Test Prep Section: English
For students: categories allow EdReady to identify user characteristics such as the school they attend.
For Admins: this gives users permission to see student data determined by the user's assigned categories. An assigned category will limit access to only students with the same value. If a user does not have a section assigned, they will be able to see students in all sections for their assigned school. If a user does not have a school assigned, they will see all students in their section(s), if assigned, or all students in their district.
Goals/Subjects
Goals or Subjects are objects that are assigned to ensure students are enrolled in the correct material they need to study. The goal dictates what subject the student is studying and working on in their Study Path.
Students can be in math only, English only, or both math and English, for either the College Prep or Test Prep programs.
Before students or teachers can be associated with their math and/or English section, an EdReady Administrator needs to create the master list of sections for users within the ISD. New students will not be able to register without being provided a registration URL.
Subject Assignment
The subjects that a student is assigned are initially determined by the registration URL they use to sign up for Texas College Bridge.
If a subject is missing for a student, an admin user (teacher or school administrator) can add the subject. Students can also add a goal (subject) by entering the associated goal key (ISD and School Administrators can view Goal Keys on their Group's Goals tab).
Editing Student accounts
If edits are needed to existing student accounts, admins are able to update this information.
If a subject is needed to be removed from a student's account, ISD Administrators have permission to remove goals from student accounts. (More details available here.)
