Occasionally, a student will attempt to access their essay and be met with a gray box covering the essay player, with a message saying
Error: No Communications Available" followed by a code.
The error looks like this, with various error codes:
This error indicates that all the "parts" of the essay player were unable to load up correctly. This can be caused by:
- a network/wifi issue
- temporary data in your browser or computer
Since it is a local problem, there is nothing we can do from here to fix it, so you can try the following:
- clear your browser's cache
- use a different browser
- reboot your computer
- try again several times in a row
- log into a different network or hotspot, clear your cache, and try again
- borrow someone else's device
- try again tomorrow!
The last one isn't a very technical option, but sometimes that is all it takes. Whatever local issue is causing it may change between one day and the next, and then the problem resolves itself.
If the problem persists for more than two days AND it doesn't work to use someone else's device, then please submit a support ticket for assistance.
