Students should always maintain only one account in Texas College Bridge and never create a duplicate account. They must always continue to work in the same account, even if they are starting over from a previous year they did not complete, or if they are changing from one school or district to another. Accounts cannot be merged and problems will arise when certificates are issued.
Prevention is the best cure: advise students not to create new accounts under any circumstances. Instead, help them get into their old account by resetting their password. Technical support or office hours support is available to help you.
Teachers need to identify students who have created duplicate accounts quickly by regularly monitoring student progress. The earlier you catch the problem, the less work the student will have to repeat.
Advise the student to stop working in the newer account and go back to the original account.
In cases where the problem was not caught early on, the student should log into both accounts and determine where they did the most work. If they earned a certificate in one account, that is the account they continue working in for the other subject.
If you find a duplicate account, ensure that your student is working forward in the correct account and then report the issue to technical support at https://texascollegebridge.edready.org so we can delete the extraneous account.
